Last Minute Yosemite Trip Information

Sunday Update: The weather is predicted to be colder than normal for this time of the year, with nighttime lows down to 28 (below freezing), and a 40% chance of rain on Wed, with snow on the valley rim. Our trip is upon us! Here is some last minute information for you.

1. Be at Adelante at 7:50 AM on Monday morning, May 30 (Memorial Day). We will pack up the bus, and leave about 8:15. Be on time, because the bus will not wait if anyone is late!
2. Be sure you have everything on the equipment list, including sleeping bag, pillow, day pack, clothing, etc. People often forget toothbrushes, hats, two 1-quart water bottles, and pajamas. 3. Bring money for souvenirs, and a phone card if you wish your child to phone home on Wednesday or Thursday.
4. You may take your belongings in any kind of bag you wish. I do NOT recommend wheeled suitcases because the wheels will break on the rocks. We may need to carry our bags up to ¼ mile.
5. For Monday and Tuesday while we are at Crane Flat, there will be no showers available. The ground is saturated with water, there is standing snow in places, and the septic system is full of water. Sigh. Showers will be available in Curry Village for our last 2 days of the trip.
6. I will be leaving early on Thursday in order to attend my daughter’s high school graduation at Woodside High School at 10AM on Friday. Maestro Ramon will be arriving on Thursday to take my place and maintain our 6 chaperones.
7. On Friday when we return, Maestra Anna will be calling Directora Linda with our expected arrival time. We should be at Adelante between 6-7PM. Please be early so that your tired child (and teacher!) doesn’t have to wait for you in the parking lot.

¡Tenemos el viaje encima! Aquí tiene alguna información de última hora para usted.

1. Lleguen a  Adelante a las 7:50 AM en la mañana del lunes 30 de mayo (Memorial Day). Vamos a empacar el autobús y a salir alrededor de las 8:15. ¡Llegue a tiempo porque el autobús no va a esperar si alguien llega tarde!
2. Asegúrese de tener todo lo necesario que aparece en la lista, incluyendo un saco de dormir, almohada, mochila, ropa, etc La gente a menudo olvida cepillos, sombreros, dos botellas de agua de 1 litro y pijamas. 3. Traer dinero para los recuerdos, y una tarjeta de teléfono si desea que su hijo de llamar a casa el miércoles o el jueves.
4. Puede llevar sus pertenencias en cualquier tipo de bolsa que deseen. Yo NO recomiendo maletas con ruedas, porque las ruedas se rompen en las rocas. Es posible que tengamos que andar con  nuestro equipaje hasta ¼ de milla.
5. Para el lunes y el martes, mientras que estamos en Crane Flat, no habrá duchas disponibles. El suelo está saturado con agua, hay nieve en algunos los lugares y el sistema séptico está lleno de agua. Las duchas estarán disponibles en Curry Village durante los 2 últimos días de nuestro viaje

6. Voy a volverme el jueves para asistir a la graduación de mi hija en la escuela secundaria a las 10 de la mañana el viernes en Woodside High School. Maestro Ramón va a llegar el jueves para tomar mi lugar y mantener a nuestros seis acompañantes.
7. El viernes cuando volvamos, Maestra Anna irá llamando a la Directora Linda para confirmar la hora de llegada. Deberíamos llegar a Adelante entre las 6 y 7 de la tarde. Por favor, llegue temprano para que su niño/a cansado/a (¡y maestra!) no tengan que esperar en el estacionamiento.
