Gimme some music!

Hey students,

I’m not hip when it comes to music. What would you like to hear when the Yosemite slide show is playing?

Give me the titles and artists, and I’ll see what I can do! (Of course it’s gotta be clean.)

Newsletter for Week of May 19-24

Notices / Noticias

  • I am very proud of our sixth grade students! We have been working very hard for the past few weeks preparing for our state-mandated Aprenda, STS, and CST tests. We have just completed the final batch of tests in English, and I know that they were very well prepared and did the best they could do. Results will be mailed to you sometime during the summer.
  • We will be back to our regular program this week and working on Math, Science, and English. Both classes will receive science this week in order to make up for some lost time.
  • There are only 3 more weeks before teachers must turn in final grades to the district. Several students have not turned in work and are failing or getting lower grades than they would be getting had they turned in work. Ask your child if all of their work is turned in.
  • If your child is NOT going to Yosemite with us next week, it is important that they still come to school. We will have work for them to do, and it will need to be completed and turned in for a grade.

Yosemite Trip

  • Check your list to be sure you have everything you need! Don’t forget a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, clothing, boots, hiking socks, and cash for souvenirs and emergencies. Electronics and cell phones are not allowed. Cameras and binoculars are optional.
  • Wear your boots to school this week to be sure they are soft and ready for our big hikes!
  • We will send home an itinerary and emergency contact sheet later this week. Remember, we leave at 9AM on Monday, May 26, Memorial Day!

Homework

  • Our big book report project is due on Wednesday. Turn in milestone #4, the final version. It must be typed on the computer, or written neatly in blue or black ink. (See the posting below if you still haven’t finished your assignment.)
  • Continue to read a minimum of 30 minutes a day for your May reading log.
