Newsletter for the week of Feb. 4

Notices

  • It’s going to be a busy week. On Wednesday, we take a field trip to the Tech museum in San Jose via bus.
  • You have probably heard about the gas line problem. The leak will take at least all week to repair. We are heating classrooms with electric space heaters, which are working well. Because of construction in the back of room 1, students will be dismissed to the lower playground by the front of the school. All students must wait on the playground until their ride appears.
  • The library will be closed all week. Maestra Mariela’s class will be meeting in there due to the construction.
  • On Thursday, we will be walking to Kennedy school to hear their “sales pitch” about enrolling for next year and see their facilities.
  • You have the option to apply to any RCSD school for 7th grade next year: Kennedy, MIT, Clifford, Cloud, Hoover. Only Kennedy continues a Spanish program, however.
  • Watch for papers for you to sign to be coming home in the next week or so concerning our Yosemite trip in May.
  • A few parents have not yet turned in their installment payment of $119. for November. Please do so this week. The next installment of $119. is due at the end of February.
  • A big “thank you!” to Mrs. Efigenio and Mrs. Dunlap for running the pizza fund raiser at Family Fun Bingo night on Friday!

Homework & Tests

  • We finished most of our oral book reports on Friday. The students all did a great job on their first solo report!
  • We will be having a math test on Tuesday covering multiplication and division of fractions, and an English test on the poetry we have been reading.
  • There will be a spelling and vocabulary test on Friday.
  • Reading logs are due next Monday.
