Notices

  • Welcome back after winter break! It’s good to see everyone again, and we are getting back into our routine.
  • The school district has us giving our second round of benchmark assessment testing this week. We will be testing for 4 days: 2 days for English, and 2 for Math. Please be sure your child gets enough sleep and a good breakfast so that he or she can perform their best.
  • Our field trip to the Rosicrucian Egyptian museum in San Jose will be Wednesday morning. We will leave by car at about 8:30, and return to Adelante by lunch time. If you have not returned your permission form, do it now or your child will have to stay behind.
  • We have our new music teacher! Mr. Charles Ferguson started last week, and is teaching band and orchestra instruments to 6th and 5th grade students. Music days are on Monday and Thursday, so be sure to bring your instruments on those days!
  • On Friday February 1, there will be an Adelante movie night at Red Morton center with John Gill school. The 6th grade has the opportunity to sell pizza for a Yosemite fund-raiser.
  • A few students have not turned in their Yosemite installment payment from November. Please turn in your $119. as soon as possible.
  • Progress reports will be mailed home this week. Students in my class may improve their grade by turning in missing/late work and retaking tests during lunch time.

Homework & Tests

  • District testing will take much of our time, so we will see what we can fit in!
  • Our next book report will be an oral report. We will begin hearing reports next week, but in the meantime, written notes will be written this week.
  • In science, 6A will finish learning about heat this week, and begin plate tectonics.
